Where We Are

The particular location on the hilly ridge between Valdichiana and Val d’Orcia has marked the history of the city of Montepulciano, also characterizing its urban design.

It rises on a hill 605 meters above sea level and from it you can wander over the valleys and territories of this municipality; the landscape is made even more pleasant by the cultivation of olive trees and vineyards and by the many natural aspects of the area such as the clay hills and the cypresses that vertically shape the landscape. From the Tower of the Renaissance Palazzo del Comune you can glimpse the Sibillini Mountains and the Cimone and in exceptionally clear weather the Gran Sasso d’Italia.

From Montepulciano you can easily reach the Val d’Orcia (Pienza, San Quirico, Bagno Vignoni), the Amiata, Umbria (Perugia, Assisi, Lake Trasimeno) and Lazio.
